Ford's RideGlasgow event is set to give families and keen bikers of all ages and abilities the opportunity to travel past some of Glasgow’s iconic landmarks. The route includes Glasgow Green, Merchant City and George Square.

Glasgow cyclists are to be given the 'unique opportunity' to enjoy city centre roads traffic-free as well as take on challenges in a new free event.

More seasoned cyclists will also be able to try their hand at the infamous 14% gradient Montrose Street incline which featured at the UCI Cycling World Championships last year. Cyclists have a choice of two distances to tackle: a full Urban Hill Climb up the 200m length of Montrose Street, and a Wee Urban Hill Climb of half the distance.

No registration is required for either event which is due to take place between 10am and 1pm on Sunday, June 9. The rest of the route will be available from 10am till 4pm on the day and feature family friendly festival zones at Glasgow Green and George Square.
