Glasgow City Council has been trying to fill empty vacancies for additional workers but has failed to find suitably qualified candidates and is now working with the University of the West of Scotland to tackle this issue.
A nationwide shortage in environmental health and food law professionals is making it harder for Glasgow City Council to recruit qualified staff to its organisation.

“In order to address the issue, which is affecting all local authorities, Glasgow is working closely with the University of the West of Scotland to tackle this shortage and promote the profession as a desirable career choice.
