The decision sparked a heated debate 💵
A Chinese restaurant in Glasgow has caused a stir online for using a customer's £50 deposit on food bank supplies after they cancelled their Christmas reservation. The takeaway posted on Facebook: "One of our customers have cancelled their Christmas Day reservations. As we have mentioned before, deposits are non-refundable.
One person supported the takeaway's decision, stating: "Personally if I booked and told it was non-refundable I'd be more than happy if I thought my deposit had gone to buy food for the food bank to help others." An angry commenter stated: "Should have refunded it back, plenty notice to get space filled, and obviously you didn't need it as you have spent it, think this has backfired on you. Cost of living is through the roof and they probably couldn't afford to eat out now, at least they gave you plenty notice."
