Glasgow Credit Union has donated more than £10,000 to 33 Glasgow charities and causes since October 2022
Glasgow West End tenants offered fuel bill help
In addition to its own charitable work, the member-driven organisation has praised big-hearted members who, for the last two years, chose to donate over £5,800 of their dividends to charity. In 2021, over £3,800 was generated for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, helping them to provide emergency support to families. This year, the Beatson Cancer Charity has benefited to the tune of £2,036, aiding its life-saving work.
Over the last four months, Glasgow Credit Union has supported a variety of organisations through its Giving Glasgow programme.Some of the causes which have received help include Westercraigs Nursery, Drumchapel Asian Forum, MENSELF+, North East Recovery Community, and Venture Trust, which works to make a positive life possible for some of Scotland’s most vulnerable people.
Gillian Buckley, community engagement manager for Glasgow Credit Union added: “Seeing the impact the Giving Glasgow donations make, no matter how big or small, always creates a positive impact and builds a stronger bond between Glasgow Credit Union, the charities, good causes and the communities we support.”
