A Glasgow beauty queen has spoken of her "toxic" experience battling homelessness before turning her life around.
However, as a teenager, Astrud's life was much less bright, as she struggled with her mental health and a relationship with a violent partner, the Daily Record reports.Clashes with her parents led to her being kicked out of the family home and from 16 to 18 she lived rough on the streets and in homeless hostels, drinking too much, until she managed to turn her life around. Astrud and her then partner would spend every night looking for places to stay.
