“Years ago I used to be a huge metalhead,” said Turnbull, “then I started listening to Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley and Stevie Ray Vaughan and people like that and my musical taste just really changed over the years.”The 19-year-old has been performing alongside his twin brother Aaron for the past several years.
Hosted by celebrity judges Howie Mandel, Lilly Singh, Trish Stratus and Kardinal Offishall, the winner will win $150,000 and the opportunity to work with a financial adviser to help realize their dreams.“I’m just hoping people will like my voice,” said Turnbull, who works part-time at his father’s carpet cleaning company.“I’d love to just be able to make guitars instead of spending thousands of dollars on them if you know what I mean.
