Cecily Ann Aguilar, the girlfriend of Vanessa Guillén's suspected murderer, is set to appear in a plea hearing on federal evidence tampering charges.
pleaded guilty to charges of accessory and making a false statement during a hearing Tuesday in federal court in Waco., 24, is the only living suspect linked to the Houston woman's killing. According to news reports, she waived her right to a jury trial and pleaded guilty to a single count of accessory after the fact and three counts of making a false statement.

The “I Am Vanessa Guillén Act” of 2020 disallowed commanders from being involved in military sexual harassment or sexual assault investigations. Provisions of the federal law, which went into effect Jan. 1, were included in the $770 billion National Defense Authorization Act signed by President Joe Biden.
