Commission spokesperson Jessica Franks said no companies have submitted gift cards for approval yet, since the new rules were just announced. She said several companies had approached the commission about the use of gift cards before sports betting launched, and those conversations lead to the new rules that were issued Monday.A sports gambling gift card must have a message about responsible gambling and a phone number for a problem gambling helpline. Only people over 21 can buy and use these sports-betting gift cards.
Sportsbooks will have to take steps to avoid advertising to people under 21 or near college campuses.
