It’s déjà vu for Saquon Barkley and the Giants.
A pass from quarterback Daniel Jones smacked off the star running back’s hands and fell right to Cardinals defensive back Jalen Thompson, who caught it for the interception.It was nearly identical to Jones’ first interception in the Giants’ embarrassing 40-0 Week 1 loss to the Cowboys.
In that game, Barkley briefly corralled Jones’ pass on a third-and-19 in the first quarter before losing it as he was tackled by Trevon Diggs. The ball subsequently fell right to Daron Bland, who returned it for a touchdown and the first pick-six of Jones’ career.It gave the Cowboys a 16-0 lead before they continued the onslaught.
In total, the Giants were outscored 60-0 through their first six quarters this season, and were the only team in the NFL yet to score a point until Jones ran for a touchdown on the opening drive of the second half.
