The star tight end has become a huge fan of the WNBA and the Las Vegas Aces.
Waller’s interest in the Aces obviously intensified once he started dating and then married Plum, but he became a fan of the team before that.
The Aces won it all last season, beating the Sun in the championship round. This year they went 34-6 to set a WNBA record for victories. The Liberty finished 32-8. As fate would have it, the place where Waller was traded to has become the biggest rival of his wife’s team this season. As a fan of the WNBA, Waller said he could see it coming.
“First of all, it was just really cool to see the environment out at the and the talent out on the court,” Waller said. “You can tell it’s a good rivalry and that it would be a good finals matchup. The Aces got them pretty good earlier in the season in Las Vegas and they are an incredible team.”
