The Giants beat the Victoria Royals 6-1 Thursday here at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre to sweep their best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal, and now await the winner between the Silvertips and the Spokane Chiefs for their next opponent.
“You can’t pick your teams . Either way, we’re going to be well prepared next Friday,” said Vancouver captain Jared Dmytriw, a centre. “The only team you get to celebrate is when you win a championship,” said Vancouver defenceman Dylan Plouffe. “That’s what we’re looking forward to…the taking steps to try to get to that.Here’s some more of what we learned Thursday night.There was about a six-second stint some six minutes in when Royals netminder Griffen Outhouse stoned Milos Roman, Brayden Watts and then Roman again back-to-back-to-back on a Vancouver rush.
