Ghana has joined a growing list of African countries offering visa-free entry to all African citizens. This decision is expected to boost tourism and travel across the continent.

Ghana is following in the footsteps of other Africa n countries which allow visa-free entry to all Africa n nations. This decision was approved by Ghana ’s President Nana Akufo-Addo in December last year. The move follows the president’s commitment at the Africa Prosperity Dialogues, where Akufo-Addo emphasized the need to foster stronger ties across Africa . Ghana ’s decision to remove visa restrictions for Africa n nations is expected to boost tourism, trade, and travel to the West Africa n country.

The continent has a total of 54 states including independent countries and dependencies.Ghana also granted visas on arrival for citizens of 25 others.With this decision, Ghana becomes the fifth country in Africa to offer visa-free entry to all holders of African passports. By removing its visa requirements Rwanda became the fourth African nation with eased entry for African passport holders. Rwanda’s president, Paul Kagame said that any African would be able to enter Rwanda at any time without having to pay for entry.He also highlighted the fact that Africa relies on 60 percent of its tourists from outside the continent, but that 40 percent of the visitors were indeed from Africa and needed visas to enter African states
