The suspects allegedly attacked the German tourist shortly after he withdrew money from an ATM at a local petrol station.
“A concerned member of the public promptly alerted the police about the incident which led to a swift response by the dedicated law enforcement officers,” said Mdhluli.
“The suspects were cornered and apprehended by the astute members in the nearby bushes. Fortunately, the male victim was rescued alive, though with injuries sustained during the ordeal,” explained Mdhluli. Mdhluli said police seized the vehicle believed to have been used in the commission of the crime and it will form part of the ongoing investigation.
