Ernst Middendorp finally recorded his first win at SV Meppen but then still faces a colossal survival task with his team bottom.

German gaffer Ernst Middendorp finally had his first victory at SV Meppen over the weekend but will need further wins in the remaining nine games to escape the drop. Middendorp has already overseen four games with SVM since arriving at the club after dumping Swallows at the beginning of this month.Prior to the 3-2 win over FC Erzgebirge Aue on Saturday, the veteran coach had drawn against table toppers and promotion hopefuls SV 07 Elversberg before two defeats in a row against SC Verl and Viktoria Koln.

Of note is the fact that while Middendorp has already taken charge of four matches in German his former employers Swallows FC have only played once and also relegation worries to stress about.
