The inside track on the football stories that matter
Georginio Rutter was not happy with Leeds United fans after they booed both Brenden Aaronson and Max Wober in the pre-season friendly v Valencia.
Both Aaronson and Wober spent last season away from Leeds following their relegation to the Championship, leaving a bitter taste in the mouths of the supporters. Fans do not all agree with the decision to bring them back, but their frustration may also have left a negative impression on one of their star players in Rutter. The attacking midfielder urged supporters to stop expressing their displeasure towards the players, but the boos at Elland Road continued anyway. One fan called for the fans not to annoy the player who remains one of the key players following the departures of Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray.
Rutter shaking his head at fans booing Aaronson and Wöber today. Let’s not piss off our best player please 😂
