Geordie Shore's Sophie Kasaei has revealed just how much the original show's cast were paid.
Sophie Kasaei has opened up about her financial struggles during the early days of Geordie Shore. Despite the fame and success that came with being on the show, Sophie, 33, who was one of the original members when the MTV series debuted in 2011, has admitted that she found it difficult to make ends meet on the show's salary and shared that her earnings were not as substantial as fans might have assumed.
She added: "The most we ever got was £1,000 a month and we couldn't survive on that, obviously after tax as well." While some cast members felt hesitant to return to a normal job after being on the show, Sophie opened up about the fear of not having a regular income. As social media grew in popularity, the reality star was able to generate more income from it, but she maintains that her wealth is not as substantial as people might assume.
Sophie emphasized the importance of being transparent about the financial realities of reality shows. She acknowledged that many people have misconceptions about the potential earnings, believing that taking part in such shows guarantees significant wealth. However, she stressed that the reality is much tougher.
