Britain's Andy Murray is set to return from injury this month and still intends to play at the French Open for what is likely to be the final time.
The three-time Grand Slam champion has been a given a wildcard for the clay-court tournament in Switzerland, which begins on 18 May.
Murray opted not to have surgery on the injury to reduce recovery time with hopes of playing at the French Open, Wimbledon and the Paris Olympics this summer.Since returning from hip resurfacing surgery in 2019, which he thought would end his career, Murray has played only once on the Paris clay, losing in the first round in 2020 to Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka. In anticipation of a final appearance at Wimbledon, Murray intends to start his grass-court preparations in Stuttgart on 10 June.
