David Mundee Geneva senior Colton Yarbrough admits he has a two-way approach to playing golf – fun and competitive.
Yarbrough will take his fun, perfectionist approach to the college level after signing a scholarship on Wednesday at the Geneva High School library to compete for the Enterprise State College Boll Weevils golf team. “This kid is amazing,” said Rich Bixby, who oversees the Geneva golf program. “I love to watch him play. I am super proud of him and who he is as a person.
“I started when I was about 4 with my dad, going out there and just hitting it, just messing around,” Yarbrough said. “I played baseball for a few years and after my seventh-grade year, I went back and started playing competitively and since then I have been practicing every day.”“I have always wanted to be a golfer,” Yarbrough said. “I think when I got back after seventh grade, I started taking lessons and picked it up for real.
