General Motors California DMV puts the brakes on GM's Cruise driverless cars over safety risk
The state referred to the vehicles as a potential threat to public safety and accused the company of misrepresenting information about the technology's safety.
The DMV added that Cruise had"misrepresented any information related to safety of the autonomous technology of its vehicles." Cruise released a statement saying,"We will be pausing operations of our driverless AVs in San Francisco. Ultimately, we develop and deploy autonomous vehicles in an effort to save lives."
