Gauteng Jaguars and Free State Crinums to face off in Telkom Netball League final
It is a battle of the provinces as the defending champion Gauteng Jaguars play the Free State Crinums in the TNL finals for Division 1 on Wednesday night. ends on Wednesday, with the defending champions, the Gauteng Jaguars, fighting for their title against the Free State Crinums, who are currently second.
On Monday, the Crinums secured a spot in the final after an intense 43-39 win over the Gauteng Fireballs at the in Johannesburg. The Jaguars secured their place in the final on Monday after a tightly contested 48-46 win over the Southern Stings. Last season's Division 2 winners, Limpopo Baobabs, will play their relegation match against the KwaZulu-Natal team Kingdom Stars, for a spot in Division 1. They were this season’s Division 2 winners.
The Baobabs have been battling in Division 1 with zero wins after playing 12 games. As newcomers to the TNL, Tshukudu had a tough season, playing 16 games and recording six wins and ten losses. The TNL saw new faces on the courts, with more than 50 debuts across various teams. Kylie Dames , who plays for the Jaguars, made her debut this season. Dames told City Press that she was grateful for the experience and hoped to make it into the national team. As a new and young player, she learnt from other players and her team-mates, which allowed her to improve her game.Being a girl from Paarl in the Western Cape and playing for the TNL champions has been amazing.
