Gary Neville insists poor leadership from the top could derail Erik ten Hag's hopes of bringing success back to Man United.
Former captain Gary Neville believes it is 'doubtful' manager Erik ten Hag will be able to win the Premier League and the Champions League under the current ownership model at Manchester United.
The Dutchman's hopes of building on last season's triumphs, however, have been impacted by a plethora of situations out of his control, such as the ongoing takeover saga and the unprecedented injury crisis United have encountered so far this term. The Reds' goal at the start of the season was to improve on last season's third-placed finish and add more silverware to their trophy cabinet.
Though Ten Hag has been realistic when setting targets and ambitions, United still strive to be the best in class, meaning that status will not be reclaimed until they have laid their hands on the Premier League title again and conquered Europe for the first time since 2008. Some supporters have recently suggested that Ten Hag will not be capable of achieving such ambitions.
Neville said: "If succeed is winning a league and Champions League, it's doubtful under this ownership."
