Erik ten Hag has survived the axe as Manchester United manager
Gary Neville has defended the length of time it took Manchester United to make a decision on Erik ten Hag's future after the club revealed he would be staying as manager.
Delivering his opinion on Ten Hag's situation, Neville told The Overlap: "It isn’t cruel to have kept Erik ten Hag hanging for two weeks whilst Manchester United review the last two years of his work. United earned a shock 2-1 victory over City to win the FA Cup and that has seemingly given Ten Hag more time, despite the fact that Ratcliffe held talks with Thomas Tuchel in Monaco last week. However, the former Bayern Munich boss is planning to take a break from coaching, while Gareth Southgate, Thomas Frank and Graham Potter were among the other names linked.
