The crowd had some help from the home team. The Senators have extended their winning streak that started with a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Wednesday to three straight as they prepare to face the Canadiens at the Bell Centre on Tuesday. The issue, of course, is there are five teams in front of them but the Senators can still find a way to make games in March meaningful. They’ll begin an 11-day break in the schedule after facing the Habs and can head into it on a high note by putting Montreal in its place again.
Smith changed all the lines after the loss to the Jets. Part of that decision was necessitated by the loss of centre Josh Norris to shoulder surgery. Rookie centre Ridly Greig was recalled from Belleville and has developed good chemistry with Giroux and Alex DeBrincat.
