“That was rock-bottom for us,” alternate captain Claude Giroux said before facing the Habs. “We were in a position to climb back in the standings and we just dug our hole a little deeper. To be able to have that response is huge for your group. Do the Senators have to play at a torrid pace down the stretch to make the post-season? Of course, but the picture looks a lot better than it did 10 days ago and meaningful games in March are still possible.Article content
