The sale of the Ottawa Senators has been a marathon, not a race, and with the finish line in sight fans are waiting impatiently.
The timeline will also depend on how much officials at GSP want to dig down on the financing for some of the bidders.
One of those bids came in at the $1 billion mark while another was at $850 million. Sparks bid $925 million in the first round March 6 and, in a 16-page deck he sent to prospective investors, he was trying to get financing in place to make a $950-million bid at the end. He recently reached out to a First Nation’s Group to bring them in as partners.Article content
