A green-fingered whizz has named one kitchen ingredient that can help repel rodents - and it's something most households will already have to hand.
The last thing any homeowner wants is rodents invading their garden and potentially entering their home. Unfortunately, it's a very common problem, especially since they're attracted to bins, pet food and garden waste.
The hack was shared by one keen gardening fan on the Gardening Hints and Tips Facebook page, by one woman who has tried and tested it in her own outdoor space and found it to be effective, the Express reports. Jordan Foster, a pest control expert at Fantastic Pest Control, also agrees with this tip of using onions to repel rats. He said: "You can grow onion in your garden or place it at the most common entry points for rats. Once they smell it, they'll run."
Jordan said: "Making beds with onion, garlic, and leeks is a great way to keep rodents and other pests at bay."
