JP Smith said he is determined to address gang violence on the Cape Flats by collaborating with the SAPS and using a different approach.
Spokesperson for the Elsies River Community Police Forum Imraahn Mukaddam, expressed deep concern over the ongoing violence in the community. He said that ‘the killings just don’t stop; guns are everywhere’. The ANC suffered a significant electoral decline in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, and says it will fight to regain power in the two provinces.
