Virgil van Dijk's early red card during Liverpool's 2-1 victory over Newcastle has divided opinion
Virgil van Dijk's red card for Liverpool against Newcastle United on Sunday has caused quite a stir as the captain faces a one-game ban.
Sky Sports' Ref Watch feature reviewed a number of major decisions from across the weekend, including the Van Dijk incident. Gallagher was then pressed for his opinion on whether the decision by on-field referee John Brooks was the correct one. Ultimately he agreed. Alongside him were pundits Sue Smith, who also agreed Van Dijk deservedly saw red, and former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock.
