Gabriel Landeskog is “nowhere close” to returning from his knee injury, Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said Monday.
. Bednar estimated the team captain would miss 12 weeks at the time. That would have put him on track to return in mid-January, but as the calendar year flips, he has barely been on the ice other than a brief stint in November.
Landeskog compiled 59 points in his second career 30-goal campaign last year despite missing a chunk of the regular season. He had knee surgery in March 2022 and only played in 51 games, his fewest since 2012-13, but he averaged a goal every five shots. He had 11 goals and 11 assists in the playoffs during the Avs’ Stanley Cup run.
