FUREY: As Mayor, I’ll see that Toronto’s decline is turned around TorontoMayor Toronto topoli

The City is currently planning to increase the number of drug injection sites throughout Toronto. They’re also pushing more social service agencies — including religious ones — to distribute taxpayer-funded crack pipes and crystal meth kits to facilities all across the city. This includes family shelters with small children.

There are now plans underway to build a modular housing facility for the homeless on the front lawn of the Willowdale Manor seniors complex. When pressed, City staff have admitted they will be providing harm reduction services. This means a de facto injection site will be at this seniors facility and drug dealers will flock there to serve their customers.

Parents and nearby residents have rightfully had enough. Yet, so far City Hall has failed to address their concerns.
