The centre is also serving almost twice as many meals as last year — 500 to 600 hot meals a day — and each week, about 10 new families are asking for help. The Caldwell Family Centre receives core funding from the City of Ottawa. In 2018, that accounted for 43 per cent of the centre’s budget, but this year it accounts for only 28 per cent. The rest of the centre’s funding comes from private and corporate donations, foundations and fundraising.Article content

Opened in 1986, the Caldwell Family Centre is a non-profit corporation. It represents the only food bank option for many people in Carlington and surrounding areas.
