A total of 124 store closures have been confirmed across the country
Administrators of retail giant Wilko have revealed the Nottinghamshire stores that will be closing over the next week after a last-minute rescue deal fell through. A total of 124 Wilko stores across the country will be closing on or before Thursday , including branches in Beeston and Clifton.
Overall, PwC has announced the closure of 124 stores by next Thursday, with other branches affected in the Midlands including Long Eaton and Alfreton. It comes after 299 redundancies were announced for Wilko's two distribution centres, one of which is in Worksop. "We also continue to collaborate closely with relevant agencies and engage with any potential employers to help facilitate a quick return into new employment for those impacted. We continue to work with potential buyers for different parts of the business and are confident of completing transactions in the coming days."
