Storm Bert is set to batter the UK this weekend - bringing 'heavy rain, strong winds and disruptive snow' to much of the country.
The wintry showers and strong winds of up to 60mph are expected to cause travel disruption across much of the country on both Saturday and Sunday. Several yellow Met Office weather warnings for snow, ice, rain and wind have been issued, including for Greater Manchester.A higher-level amber alert for snow and ice has been issued for an area north of Scotland’s central belt between 7am and 5pm on Saturday.
