FTX spent nearly $7 million on food and over $15 million on luxury Bahamian hotels in just 9 months, court documents show
that in high season, accommodation at the resort can cost as much as $60,000 per night.In March 2022, the hotel hosted the Caribbean reception for Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales. FTX spent $28,954 at the hotel the same month.
The Prince and Princess of Wales attend a reception at the Grand Hyatt, the finale of their 2022 Caribbean tour.before filing for bankruptcy, FTX had around 1,310 employees, meaning an average of nearly $12,000 per staff member was spent on hotels across the nine months.
