The park closed its doors in 1999
Lancaster City Council is seeking proposals from businesses to help it regenerate the former Frontierland theme park site in Morecambe.
Interested parties can find information on the contracts website procontract.due-north.com. The opportunity reference is DN633253. Ahead of any formal proposals coming forward, the council has appointed contractors to make the site safe and secure and to re-level the land. The work is expected to take around a month, the city council said.
In January this year, a Lancashire business website's publication of a news story and artist's impressions of potential new restaurants, a hotel and town-houses at the Frontierland site was described as a mystery by various city councillors. In response, the city council published an official statement saying the Lancashire Business View report about a 'masterplan' commission was 'incorrect'.
