Frisco Threads collects, provides clothing to ISD students
“In Frisco ISD our mission is to know every student by name and need. That often takes more than schools, teachers and administrators to accomplish that mission,” Waldrip said in the video.
Terri Palmer, Frisco ISD Council of PTAs president, said clothing for financially disadvantaged students in Frisco ISD fills in a much-needed gap. “Frisco has a few other organizations that provides food and hygiene products but there was a gap in clothing for our students,” Palmer said. “We want our students in the district to feel comfortable and in line with everybody else, so they have the best environment for learning.”
Frisco Threads is open for donations from 9 a.m. to noon on Mondays at 7159 Hickory Street. Shopping days are held on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and one Thursday a month the organization is open later.“We hope that we can just provide a little relief for the families and put a smile on some kids faces,” Childers said. “And we just appreciate all the community support that we’ve received.”“We hope to help provide them with clothing so they can be confident in themselves,” Childers said.
