Friendswood sweeps Goose Creek Memorial in softball playoffs

Lady Mustangs leadoff hitter Baileigh Burtis belted four doubles in powering the Friendswood offense. “I felt like we understood our mistakes yesterday,” she said. “Our hitting was good, but we knew we could perform better. Esparza then bashed another double to the wall in center field to plate Burtis and Cason for a 6-0 cushion.Burtis and Cason, who bat 1-2 in the Lady Mustangs lineup, continued their penchant for delivering potent hitting at the top end of the batting order.
