The Ligue 1 match between Montpellier and Clermont is abandoned after visiting goalkeeper Mory Diaw is targeted by a firework thrown from the stands.
The Ligue 1 match between Montpellier and Clermont was abandoned on Sunday when visiting goalkeeper Mory Diaw was stunned by a firework that exploded next to him after being thrown from the stands.
After receiving treatment on the field, the 30-year-old was carried off on a stretcher, with the game called off following a crisis meeting of officials. Montpellier were heading for a first home win of the season at the time of the incident, despite having played with 10 men from the 54th minute following Maxime Esteve's dismissal for two bookable offences.
