Forecasters say parts of New Jersey could see temperatures plunge to the upper 20s to low 30s early Thursday, May 18. Other areas will see lows in the mid-30s to low 40s.
say temperatures could drop as low as 28 to 32 degrees in Sussex County, and into the mid-30s in Hunterdon, Morris and Warren counties.
Up in Sussex, where a freeze warning is in effect from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Thursday because of the threat to outdoor flowers and vegetable gardens, the average historical low temperature for May 18 is 46 degrees and the record low is 29 degrees, set in 1983, according to data from the weather service.
