Fire crews requesting evacuation of Willow Springs Ranch, evaluating need to evacuate Hayden Ranch
PINAL COUNTY, AZ — The Freeman Fire near Oracle has burned more than 26,00 acres and prompted evacuations.
Officials estimated the fire burned 1,700 acres as of Thursday night, but the size jumped to 26,000 acres on Friday morning. The fire, originally called the Wash Fire, started Thursday afternoon and is"moving in all directions," forestry officials say. "Sudden wind shift late Thursday night pushed the fire in all directions, significantly increased fire behavior & forced the evacuation of the Willow Spring Ranch," officials said Friday morning.
Fire operations have requested the evacuation of Willow Springs Ranch and are evaluating the need to evacuate Hayden Ranch.— AZ Dept.
