protests that gridlocked the capital and inspired border blockades across Canada last winter are set to start testifying at the Emergencies Act inquiry on Tuesday.

First on the list of convoy witnesses is Chris Barber, a trucker from Swift Current, Sask. who was one of the first organizers of the movement that rallied thousands of semi drivers and other protesters to descend on Ottawa to denounceBarber is among the organizers who were arrested after the convoy protest turned into a three-week occupation around Parliament Hill.

Steeve L’Artiss Charland is also slated to testify. Like Barber and Lich, Charland was arrested and faces criminal charges for his role in the protests. He is the spokesperson of a Quebec-based group called Les Farfadaas, which experts describe as a loose organization created during the pandemic to oppose public health restrictions that were imposed to slow the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
