The check-ups will include blood tests to monitor cholesterol and glucose levels, cancer detection, cognitive assessments and blood pressure measurements.

SINGAPORE: The National University of Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine is set to provide complimentary physical examinations for Singapore citizens and permanent residents aged 50 and above this weekend.

As the city-state’s demographic structure continues to shift towards an older population, the importance of regular health assessments for individuals aged 50 and above is a priority. The event, to be held at the Toa Payoh Central Community Club, is structured to cater to the specific health needs of this age group. It will encompass a comprehensive range of health assessments, providing valuable insights into participants’ overall health. These assessments include blood tests to monitor cholesterol and glucose levels, cancer detection, cognitive assessments, blood pressure measurements, and more.

Furthermore, cognitive assessments are essential to identify any early signs of cognitive decline or dementia, enabling individuals and their families to plan for the future and access support as needed.
