Attendees at the sixth UCLan Japan Day A free event sharing Japanese culture is taking place in Preston. Organised by the University of Central Lancashir

Family workshops include Samurai warrior helmet making, an anime photobooth, Kamishibai picture story theatre, calligraphy, furoshiki wrapping, a Japanese language trial session. There is also a display created by Japanese school children for visitors to explore.For the adults, in addition to a language taster, there will be a tea ceremony and the opportunity to try on the traditional Japanese garment, the kimono.

UCLan first hosted its Japan Day 10 years ago and since then hundreds of people have attended the annual event, including a range of distinguished Japanese Ministerial visitors.
