In May the Post’s Christopher Nardithat the federal government gave employees $171 million in bonuses during the pandemic even as its departments failed to meet half their performance objectives. Conservative MP Kelly McCauley was right when he called it “pay for failure” and said that in the private sector such performance “would mean you’re being shown the door, not shown Google Maps and how to get to the bank to deposit your bonus.
