Reigning world champions France opened their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign with a 4-1 thrashing of Australia on Tuesday night. SLInt MORE:

The Socceroos were nearly back on level terms just before the interval, with Jackson Irvine rattling the upright with a free header at the far post.
