Four years after the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls released its 231 calls for justice, Ottawa has still not taken meaningful action to end the ‘genocide’ of Indigenous women, the Native Women’s Association of Canada says. The organization, which represents Indigenous women, girls and gender-diverse people in Canada, has given the federal government a failing grade for its efforts to date on the inquiry’s sweeping calls for reform.
