SCIENTISTS have discovered four new species of spark that can briefly walk outside of the sea in a major evolutionary development.
They can even briefly leave the water, for example by standing on top of coral reefs, for brief periods.The new discoveries brings the total number of known walking shark species to nine.Scientists announced their discovery in the Marine and Freshwater Research journalThe sharks reach around three feet in length, and often hunt around coral reefs.In evolutionary terms this is very recent, with the first ancestors of sharks emerging 400 million years ago before the dinosaurs.
