Ahead of the 2025 General Election, the People's Action Party (PAP) is making leadership changes in its branches located in Aljunied GRC and Hougang SMC, both currently held by the opposition Workers' Party. Four political newcomers will be taking over the reins of the branches on February 17th.

Singapore 's ruling People's Action Party ( PAP ) announced leadership changes for its branches in the opposition-held constituencies of Aljunied GRC and Hougang SMC on Thursday (Feb 13). Four political newcomers will assume the roles of branch chairmen across four divisions starting February 17, ahead of the 2025 General Election . In Hougang , Marshall Lim will succeed Jackson Lam as chairman, who had taken on the role in October 2023.

Bedok Reservoir-Punggol branch vice-chairman Adrian Ang will replace Victor Lye as chairman. Daniel Liu, currently the Citizens' Consultative Committee chairman of Nee Soon East branch in Nee Soon GRC, will lead the Paya Lebar branch, stepping in for Kenny Sim after six months. The PAP expressed gratitude to outgoing branch chairpersons Victor, Kenny, Shamsul, and Jackson for their service to the residents, noting that they will continue to contribute to the party in other capacities.
