Four people have been rushed to hospital with one left fighting for their life after a vehicle being chased by police ploughed into them.

The victims were hit while sitting on two benches at the end of Fieldgate Street in London’s Whitechapel area at around 11.54pm on Wednesday night. The suspect vehicle is thought to have come off the road while approaching a sharp turn at the end of the street. Footage of the aftermath shows the wrecked silver Mercedes sat on top of a planter, suggesting the collision with the bench partly launched it into the air.supports HTML5 videoThe benches are located in a small square frequently used as a gathering place for visitors to a nearby mosque.
