The annual Easter holiday was a time to spend with family and friends for some; however, for others, it was an opportunity to see their favourite amateur teams take part in the various community tournaments hosted around the country.
Mamelodi Sundowns coach, fresh from a disappointing CAF Champions League defeat to Petro De Luanda in Angola, Rulani Mokwena was once again in the thick of things at the Tsalanang Easter games in Braamfischerville Soweto. Unfortunately for the coach, he suffered defeat for the second time in a matter of days as his Black Poison side suffered defeat to Riverpark FC in the final.Another tournament that kept the Cape Town community enthralled was the prestigious Bayhill Tournament. Having produced scores of players that has gone on to the professional ranks and represented Bafana Bafana at senior level, the tournament lived up to its billing as thousands of supporters made their way to Erica Park in Belhar.
An in the Thabiso Semenya Annual Easter Tournament, Mokgonyana Royal Aces beat Cameroon FC 3-1 in the final.
